Cool. Using only LTS releases is perfectly fine. Many people do that. The fix for this enhancement request is already released in Ubuntu 17.10. Thanks, Daniel. I am using 16.04. I normally upgrade only between LTS. I hope what you are talking is about 17.10, right ? I am happy with the clock on the top bar. The desktop already has a live clock, as does the lock screen. Can you please clarify what's missing? Perhaps because the lock screen turns off the screen rather quickly, people don't notice the clock.
