Leoquant-- First of all, thank you for trying to help me. No, I didn't install any of that I don't think. All I did was install ubuntu, get the updates, and then record about thirty hours of music on my system from my old cds...I don't want to lose all that! I did install my printer, and it is working fine. I downloaded the driver etc. I just want to be able to update my system. I have read some other threads and several people give several different fixes but I can't seem to get any of them to work. I apologize for my lack of knowledge. I am an old fart writer who Vista finally pissed off enough to make the switch. I am determined to use linux come hell or high water. If any of you can help me I will be in your debt.
