Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-session
I am on ubuntu 7.04 64 bit.I am on a fresh install. Whenever I enable the Visual effects,My login time increases significantly. I have calculated the times with and without compiz with a stopwatch. With Visual effects enabled, irrespective of the level of visual effects, my computer takes around 15 seconds from the login screen to a workable desktop,in the meantime,I can move the cursor, but its only a beige background which is present. Without compiz enabled, this jumps down to around 3 seconds. Also when I enable compiz from a no visual effects state,it takes around 4 seconds to load. I am on core 2 duo 1.86 GHz, with intel GMA 950 graphics. ** Affects: compiz Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: compiz Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Long login time with compiz enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174056 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
