Oh, sorry, I forgot there is another hurdle. You will need to apply the workaround in bug 994921 first :( This is something we need to improve on (https://trello.com/c/wjnNn7dC). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1749675 Title: gnome-shell crashes randomly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1749675/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

> OK, if 'ubuntu-bug' is not working then please try 'apport-cli' instead. I didn't know this alternative, thanks for the info. However, the extremely low quality of apport strikes here as well (selecting upload causes the program to return immediately with return code 0 and no output which is in conjunction with a missing verbosity switch just inacceptable).

[Bug 1749675] Re: gnome-shell crashes randomly
I thought that'd be happing automatically (why not?). However, I can't use this function since 2015, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1505368 for details.

Unfortunately we can't help you without some kind of crash file or dump file. Please have a look in /var/crash for such related files and upload them using this tool: ubuntu-bug /var/crash/YOURFILE.crash When done, add a comment here telling us the new bug ID. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1749675 Title: gnome-shell crashes randomly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1749675/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
