LOL. It's silly but funny as Options menu in IM window takes any character as the shortcut. This still seems to be a valid bug, or at least UI issue. Steps to reproduce: (Tested in Linux client, version 2.5.5) 1. [Accidentally] hit Alt-O (which summons the options menu) 2. Type any character, or backspace. This will assign it to the shortcut for enabling/disabling logging. 3. Keep typing, as if trying to type a message. This whole process seems to happen while the user is unaware, and trying to type a message. 4. This character, inadvertantly chosen as the shortcut key will no longer appear in the written message. If typed, the notice Logging stopped [started]. Future messages in this conversation will [not] be logged. will appear in the message box. I actually got a response on this problem. It's not a bug, but something I must has inadvertently caused. If you let your cursor hover over the function in the drop down menu, then hit backspace, it will eliminate the quick key setting that is giving you the problem. subsurferus wrote: I get the same thing with the letter a. I get the same thing with the letter a. When I do it brings up the New IM window. Very annoying. I have found that its something to do with the Ctrl+A shortcut.
