Thanks for taking the time to look at this.

I'm afraid I do not quite follow your reasoning. If I install the
package today I receive the list of OUI's as they are assigned by the
IEEE as of today. Fast forward a couple of years from now I will start
to see devices in my network with OUI's which are unlisted according to
the files on my local system, but were in fact assigned by IEEE in the
meantime.

I agree that the files do not need to be updated frequently, but
currently they are _never_ updated, which makes them unreliable.

The data is in the files that ieee-data updates is not necessary to be
very updated. It's good if it's current, it does not really matter if
not.
