Public bug reported: I am using Gutsy on Dell 6000 inspiron laptop. Output of uname -a : Linux usien-laptop 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 23:05:12 GMT 2007 i686 GNU/Linux
This never happened in edgy and fiesty and even in gutsy until recently. My machine freezes randomly including the mouse and the keyborad. This usually doesn't happen on too much load (i am using the usual two, three apps). I have ran the memory test and it came out clean. acpi -t gives a maximum temp of 57 degrees celcius (at max load), with a normal temp in 40s. I have to hard boot the machine to get anything working. Sometimes when i hard boot, i get an error at grub about the hard disk and it doesnt boot, when i restart again it works. Sometimes after the hard boot the system boots but hangs at usplash and other times it boots to the login screen and when i login, it either does not recognize my username or hangs when logging in. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- random freezes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/176091 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
