[Bug 1769405] Re: In GTK+ Look-And-Feel, Slider Controls Have No Visible Handle
This affects me. Aere has given a great description - is there any more information I can provide? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1769405 Title: In GTK+ Look-And-Feel, Slider Controls Have No Visible Handle To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-lts/+bug/1769405/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1769405] Re: In GTK+ Look-And-Feel, Slider Controls Have No Visible Handle
To my knowledge, I supplied all of the information you requested. What more do you need? Ignoring this bug means that applications can no longer use the GTK+ look-and-feel. Is it truly being abandoned? If so, I will alert our users to use the Nimbus look-and-feel instead. That is unfortunate, because I really preferred the GTK+ look-and-feel. But if it can no longer be supported, so be it.

The first screenshot (using the "-Djdk.gtk.version=2" option) shows the application screen the way it should appear. The slider controls (in the right pane) all have a handle which can be 'grabbed' by the mouse, and dragged. The second screenshot (without the above option), shows the same screen, with the problem clearly evident. None of the slider controls (in the right pane) have a 'handle' visible (which could be dragged using a mouse). Yet if you click and drag in the slider control where the handle should be visible, it behaves as if a visible handle were there.

In this case, it is the KeyMusician Keyboard. I can give you a free-trial copy, if you need. I have attached two screenshots. The first, was taken running the application using the "-Djdk.gtk.version=2" option. The second, was taken running the application without the above option, using whatever JDK is used by default on Ubuntu 18.04. -- Sincerely, Aere ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2018-05-18 10-06-35.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1769405/+attachment/5141299/+files/Screenshot%20from%202018-05-18%2010-06-35.png ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2018-05-18 10-08-45.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1769405/+attachment/5141300/+files/Screenshot%20from%202018-05-18%2010-08-45.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1769405 Title: In GTK+ Look-And-Feel, Slider Controls Have No Visible Handle To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-lts/+bug/1769405/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1769405] Re: In GTK+ Look-And-Feel, Slider Controls Have No Visible Handle
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It's not clear what application you were trying to run. Could you please try running the java application by adding -Djdk.gtk.version=2 to the java command line and report back if that helps? This seems to be related to bug #1770278. That reports includes a couple screenshots, could you please take a look and report back if it is similar to what you are seeing? ** Changed in: openjdk-lts (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1769405 Title: In GTK+ Look-And-Feel, Slider Controls Have No Visible Handle To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-lts/+bug/1769405/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
