Re: [Bug 1772105] Re: trying to update EOL 15.10 using old-releases.ubuntu.com
Dmitri - Thank you for your prompt response. Proserver is a data backup server from Code42 (code42.com). In this case, the installation is relatively old (2 years?) and I'm sure that more modern versions comply better with standard coding practices. I had begun to suspect this process as the problem, too. I'll disable it before attempting to upgrade again. Thanks again for your help! sincerely, Eric Lobenstine Chemistry Dept. [Bug 1772105] Re: trying to update EOL 15.10 using old-releases.ubuntu.com
Problem is not with mdadm at all, that configured fine. The problem is with init.d script proserver, which is missing LSB headers and thus cannot be ordered due to a circular dependency. I do not know what proserver, is. But please either fix it by adding LSB headers, or remove/disable it for the upgrade. insserv: warning: script 'S99proserver' missing LSB tags and overrides insserv: warning: script 'proserver' missing LSB tags and overrides insserv: There is a loop between service grub-common and procps if started insserv: loop involving service procps at depth 2 insserv: loop involving service udev at depth 1 insserv: There is a loop at service grub-common if started insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! insserv: Starting proserver depends on grub-common and theref
