stereovo, Please open a new bug about your xserver crash. There is insufficient data to show that your problem really is the same as manuel's, so we're going to reclose bug 177490 . In your new bug, please include include a backtrace from one of these crashes. Instructions on how to get a backtrace ate at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing . If you discover any reliable way to reproduce the crash, that would also be very helpful. Without a backtrace or the steps to replicate the crash, we may not be able to identify or fix the bug. Hi there, I confirm the same bug. THe X server _only_ restarts very irregurarly. ~4 times a week, smtimes more often. It looks exactly the same as a result of 'ctrl+alt+bkspc". Probably always in this situation Firefox is running, probably often exploring some youtubes or other memory taking sites. I work on Dell Latitude D 400 (Intel Pentium IV 1,7 GHz, 1,24 RAM) 7.10 Gutsy. If someone could help please cause I've just lost some stuff I've been workin' on for last 2 hours, just because of the X restart. Sometimes without notice ubuntu restart the system restarts and sometimes do -ctrl alt backspace- The vast majority of cases occur using firefox I can not give you details but I am not an expert in computer.
