The Ubuntu Desktop Guide is also available offline when you are logged
in into an Ubuntu session. Kernel and booting issues have not been
considered to fit well in that guide, but for such issues e.g.
 is a better resource.

Will that do as an explanation, or is there anything you want to
clarify?
