Marking fixed based on last comment. If you experience this bug in a later Ubuntu release, then test the latest Ubuntu version (9.10) and report a new bug if necessary. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: Incomplete => Invalid ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: Invalid => Fix Released -- looping bongo drums in ubuntu 7.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/178493 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I haven't had the looping bongo drums bug in a long time. I have been installing updates when they are available so I assume that the bug was fixed in one of the updates. [Bug 178493] Re: looping bongo drums in ubuntu 7.10
Adding "irqpoll" to your bboot options should solve the issue. I had the looping sound issue as well as intermittent wi-fi issues on my MSI Vr320. Adding irqpoll solved everything. I am now running 2.6.26 on a Debian Lenny/Testing, but this fix should be fine on Ubuntu as well. -- looping bongo drums in ubuntu 7.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/178493 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I am having the looping drums issue. It is intermittent but we just had it happen this morning. [Bug 178493] Re: looping bongo drums in ubuntu 7.10
Xtrobe can you do what Gareth is asking? Can you reproduce this issue running from the Live CD (Gutsy and/or Hardy)? Also, please include the following additional information, if you have not already done so (pay attention to lspci's additional options): 1. Please include the output of the command "uname -a" in your next response. It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version you're running, as well as the CPU architecture. 2. Please run the command "dmesg > dmesg.log" after a fresh boot and attach the resulting file "dmesg.log" to this bug report. 3. Please run the command "sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log" and attach the resulting file "lspci-vvnn.log" to this bug report. 4. Please run the command "find /lib/modules/`uname -r` | grep snd > soundmodules.txt" and attach the resulting file "soundmodules.txt" to this bug report. Thanks. He needs this to further study the issue... We seem to have the same problem. unfortunately I can't do that anymore since I reverted back to the old version of ubuntu. -- looping bongo drums in ubuntu 7.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/178493 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 178493] Re: looping bongo drums in ubuntu 7.10
Hello. I'm also having the same problem with 2 other MSI VR 320's. Version 8.04 didn't seem to do anything to rectify this. The soundcard used for this laptop uses the ALC883 Audio Codec (from Realtek). Yes. The problem is it's very intermittent. I'm kinda new to Ubuntu and not familiar with some of the commands.
