There are some discussion in clipit github [1]. There is a little workaround for the history by just pressing long enough. No solution, people suggesting just move to different clipboard mangers. Broken on 19.04, at least under unity-desktop. This is still not working, but also I don't see that a new version is available. Whenever I update, it installs 1.4.4+git20190202-1, which doesn't work. Still broken on 19.04 beta. After upgrading from 18.04 to 18.10, the shortcuts to display the paste menu no longer work.
