Confirmed - have same issue here on AMD64.

/agree - this should be at least a medium priority bug, not a wishlist
item.

Most of the libraries which are not found are actually included in the
Acrobat distribution, specifically: libBIB.so, libBIBUtils.so,
libACE.so, libAGM.so, libCoolType.so, libAXE8SharedExpat.so,
libWRServices.so, libAdobeXMP.so, libahclient.so and libResAccess.so.

These will be found in /usr/lib32/Adobe/Reader8/Reader/intellinux/lib,
or some other similar location.

As such, the only ones missing are pixman and selinux/sepol. So, this
is a duplicate of #180478.

The first bunch of "not found"s (with unversioned .so extensions) are
probably libraries which come with the Adobe Reader and get found if the
executable is started out of the /usr/bin/acroread wrapper, but all the
others are really missing.

This Adobe Reader .deb package is from Medibuntu:

acroread_8.1.1-0medibuntu3_amd64.deb
acroread-escript_8.1.1-0medibuntu3_amd64.deb
acroread-plugins_8.1.1-0medibuntu3_amd64.deb

If there is one which fits better into Hardy, please tell which one.

carseneau: Thanks, that did the trick! The URL you posted got mangled,
it should end with:
/ubuntu/pool/universe/i/ia32-libs/ia32-libs_2.1ubuntu3_amd64.deb

I think a bug that breaks Flash on AMD64--especially since it has been
working all along--should be considered more than just a "wishlist"
issue.

[Bug 180628] Re: [Hardy wishlist]libsepol1 and libselinux1 needed to run skype 2

2008-01-06 Thread carseneau
I fixed this problem by removing ia32-libs, flashplugin-nonfree and
nspluginwrapper, then installing ia32-libs_2.1ubuntu3_amd64.deb from
http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/...e/i/ia32-libs/ (It is an older
version than what installs in apt-get), then installing flashplugin-
nonfree. I don;t know about skype but this fixed flash in firefox-3.0 on
x86_64 hardy 8.04 alpha 2.

I think this shouldn't be seen as a wishlist bug - without these
libraries, e.g. flash under amd64 does not work anymore. This has worked
in the past, so it should be fixed.

2008-01-05 Thread Per Osbeck
Additionally libpixman is missing as well as the already mentioned
libsepol.

/usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/i386/linux/npviewer.bin: error while loading
shared libraries: libpixman-1.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No
such file or directory

/usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/i386/linux/npviewer.bin: error while loading shared
libraries: libsepol.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory

Copying the files from the i386 debs seems to work.
