[Bug 1806479] Re: Multiple failures in distrobution 18.10

2021-12-09 Thread Paul White
We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all
reported bugs in a timely manner.

It seems that you are/were not using software packages provided by the
official Ubuntu repositories. Because of this the Ubuntu project can not
support or fix any issues that you may come across when using software
from these sources.

Please report issues of this nature directly to the providers of the
software package(s).

2018-12-10 Thread Robert Pearson

Thank you for the explanation. I still think it would be much easier to fix
the incorrect URL in the superspec package since that error is causing the
problem with the 18.10 distro. (Assuming anyone is actually interested in
fixing the distro. Currently no one is assigned to fix the URL.) (And why
is Ubuntu using code from a company which sells Lisp development tools in
the distro?)

[Bug 1806479] Re: Multiple failures in distrobution 18.10

2018-12-06 Thread Juhani Numminen
The procedure is something like this:

Open the Control center and from there, open the "Software & Updates"
window.

Then click on the second tab "Other software". On the list, uncheck the
checkbox to the left of the source that you are going to disable, in
this case "http://ppa.launchpad.net/webupd8team/indicator-
kdeconnect/ubuntu cosmic main".

Juhani Numminen,

You say "So please disable that software source.". I am a Linux newbie. How do
I do that?

[Bug 1806479] Re: Multiple failures in distrobution 18.10

2018-12-04 Thread Juhani Numminen
Regarding the first error that you mention:

Err:17 http://ppa.launchpad.net/webupd8team/indicator-kdeconnect/ubuntu cosmic
Release
  404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.95.83 80]

That is because that particular PPA (personal package archive) is not
available for Ubuntu 18.10. The webupd8 team only releases it for some
older Ubuntu versions. So please disable that software source.

The second message that you commented on is apparently due to Google
Earth repository, and you can report it to Google. That looks safe to
ignore anyway.

Let's see if that "check connection" message goes away when you disable
the webupd8team indicator-kdeconnect PPA.
