I couldn't reproduce this, but I'll say that this is not necessarily a supported methodology for Lubuntu. I mean I use awesomewm but I don't expect that Lubuntu ensures that it Just Works™ with it. I can't reproduce this at all. You'd need to make it far more clear on how to set up the system in order to reproduce this issue.
