[Bug 1820143] Re: Package python-vte missing from Ubuntu 19.04

2019-11-19 Thread Ali Afshar
You can't just remove stuff because you don't like it! That's
appallingly bad manners.

Abominade https://github.com/aliafshar/a8 depends on this package and
overhauling it will require a lot of work - it doesn't use gi at all.

Please reconsider adding the package back. Good distros don't break
their customers.

Thanks

[Bug 1820143] Re: Package python-vte missing from Ubuntu 19.04

2019-03-14 Thread Jeremy Bicha
The removal of python-vte was intentional. It is part of an old vte
version that hasn't been maintained for years.

Please ask the developer of the app that needs python-vte to switch to
GObject Introspection. The Debian package for the vte GObject
Introspection support is gir1.2-vte-2.91

** Package changed: ubuntu => vte (Ubuntu)

** Changed in: vte (Ubuntu)
   Status: New => Won't Fix
