I can confirm this bug. It is not only in kopete, but also konqueror is missing SSL/TLS support. It seems to me that the packages were compiled without openssl support. I don't know whether this is also related to Konqueror, but Kopete's jabber encription is using the latest SSL plugin for QCA (which is still in beta). This package is not available in Gutsy, hence we need to backport it, add it to the PPA, and check whether we need to rebuild, because QCA works with plug'n'play. I also just hit this in 4.1 RC1. I can confirm this bug. It is not only in kopete, but also konqueror is missing SSL/TLS support. It seems to me that the packages were compiled without openssl support. This package is not available in Gutsy, hence we need to backport it, add it to the PPA, and check whether we need to rebuild, because QCA works with plug'n'play.
