I see this too with version 2.24.0-0ubuntu8 of G.P.M, on a Packard Bell
EasyNote A8202 laptop. In fact, it's been like this ever since I moved
from Feisty to Hardy!

I can still reproduce this, even on Intrepid gnome-power-manager 2.24.0-0ubuntu3. See the screenshot. The notification icon shows green. The tooltip shows 60%. But if I click on the battery, it shows 17%, which is the correct reading.
