Hi. Turns out I identified the root of this problem. The cause was the "skip-grant-tables" on mysqld.cnf file. I use this so I can bypass a permission error on a fresh installed mysql. I just didn't knew I had to remove it after I changed the admin password. Removed the line and the process followed as intended. I think this issue can be closed. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. There isn't really enough information here for a developer to confirm this issue is a bug, or to begin working on it, so I am marking this bug Incomplete for now. If you can provide exact steps so that a developer can reproduce the original problem, then please add them to this bug and change the status back to New. ** Changed in: mysql-5.7 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1829098 Title: package mysql-server-5.7 5.7.26-0ubuntu0.18.10.1 failed to install/upgrade: installed mysql-server-5.7 package post-installation script subprocess was killed by signal (Terminated) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1829098/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
