[Bug 182927] Re: Update FreeMind to 0.9.0 beta 15
Hi, I'm the Eric L. who makes the upstream and Debian .deb packages. FreeMind 0.9.0.RC1 was just uploaded to Debian and is waiting for approval in the NEW queue: http://ftp-master.debian.org/new.html (it went from contrib to main, that's why it's considered NEW). Few notes: 1. let me know if I can make your life "side-porting" from Debian to Ubuntu easier. 2. you will need also to side-port libxsd2jibx-java. 3. beware that both xsd2jibx and FreeMind rely on version 1.0.x of libjibx-java, whereas Jaunty contains a 1.1.x version, which is (slightly) not backwards compatible. I didn't (yet) take the burden to upgrade and solve potential incompatibilities, but I'm interested in learning how you're doing it :-) Eric L. -- Update FreeMind to 0.9.0 beta 15 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/182927 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

version 0.9.0-rc3 was released about a month ago. The Debian package for 0.8.1 has been out since last November: https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=7118&package_id=161831&release_id=574421 Can we please get this application updated rather than continue to rely upon a 4 year old version that really is lacking in many features? My guess is that, given the accelerated rate of development that we're seeing compared to past years, 0.9.0 will certainly be out very soon. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a 1.0 release before the end of the year. I second the upgrade request. The RC (since the first beta) is quite stable.

Bug? Freemind crashes at start up while it is initialising. it asks me whether i would like to overwrite the old pattern file or not, but I can't click on yes or no. I've adapted the debian package for Freemind 0.8.1 to work on Ubuntu Jaunty and it is in my PPA. [Bug 182927] Re: Update FreeMind to 0.9.0 beta 15
version 0.9.0-rc3 was released about a month ago. Big fan of Freemind. Would love to see it in the repos. Development of the project is slow but progressing. Using the 0.9 RC1 package from Eric L.'s repository. Works fine. No trouble when it migrated from the 0.8.x package (forgot which one I was on..) -- Update FreeMind to 0.9.0 beta 15 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/182927 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
