[Bug 1833588] Re: Iwlwifi regression after linux 4.19

2019-06-25 Thread Valentin Crone
After checking, this second problem is not related to the original bug, but
with the AP.
Please, ignore my posts #5 and #6

[Bug 1833588] Re: Iwlwifi regression after linux 4.19

2019-06-24 Thread Valentin Crone
I dont know if it's related to the current bug, but with Ubuntu 19.04,
on my Dell Laptop (quoted on the previous message), I have to switch off
the wireless and the switch on approximately each 30 - 60mins to make it
able to stay connected to the wireless. Without this, at a time, the
connexion is lost, and you can refresh for wireless, nothing is found.

This is in dmesg:

// HERE MY WIRELESS WORKS AGAIN

It's very strange, because before Ubuntu 19.04 I never had to do this and
with GNOME Shell it's a pain, because it's not easy to disconnect/reconnect to
the wireless, when you are connected, even if nothing works, he consider that
all is ok (except he put a "?" on the wireless icon), and you can't click to
"disconnect" or "reconnect" on the AP List.
I precise that on Windows, or with my phone, there is no problems on the same
AP.

It's very strange, but to post this message, I need to reconnect 3 or 5
timeswhile my phone has no problems...

[Bug 1833588] Re: Iwlwifi regression after linux 4.19

2019-06-24 Thread Valentin Crone
It seems I have the same problem with my Intel 7260 on a Dell Latitude
E6540, I get some disconnections while my smartphone is always connected
properly. Here I haven't the options osi_acpi=! and osi_acpi="Windows
2009" set, this computer is able to boot without any special
manipulations with Ubuntu.

[Bug 1833588] Re: Iwlwifi regression after linux 4.19

2019-06-24 Thread Valentin Crone
I can't boot my computer without osi_acpi=! osi_acpi="Windows 2009", and
my computer freeze with a CPU Lock error blablabalbla #23 if I doesn't
set "snd_hda_intel.single_cmd=1".

But, I always used theses options, even with Ubuntu 14.04 and 18.04, and
I never had this issue.

Theses options: osi_acpi=! and osi_acpi="Windows 2009" are (misfortunately)
required for the most of hybrid computers (intel graphics/nvidia, laptop)
today, which is not user friendly to boot Ubuntu.
And, nouveau.run_pm=1 is required for the most of the same type of laptops to
make them able to boot without the proprietary nvidia driver. And
nouveau.run_pm=1 provide generally a very laggy screen, but when the
installation is complete, you can install the nvidia driver and it's ok.

Does the issue happen without 'osi_acpi=! "osi_acpi=Windows 2009"'?
