[Bug 1837335] Re: Screen goes to black after a few seconds using 19.04
Chris: Thank you for your quick response. Graphics: IntelĀ® HD Graphics 520 (Skylake GT2) The install was an upgrade from 18.04 LTS to 18.04 to 19.04. After the upgrade was completed, I could not understand why my Dell laptop screen was blanking out. I discovered that my "color management profile" was in the "on" position and that was causing the screen blackout. I clicked on Settings, Devices, Color, Laptop Screen. There I found that the color setting was defaulted to the "on" position for my Dell Inspiron 15-7599. I turned off that setting and the problem disappeared. The screen works normally. I may consider removing that specific color profile to avoid the problem in future upgrades. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1837335 Title: Screen goes to black after a few seconds using 19.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virt-manager/+bug/1837335/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1837335] Re: Screen goes to black after a few seconds using 19.04
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Ubuntu 18.04 LTS's tested & supported upgrade path was to 18.10, or in the furture to 20.04.1 (after release later next year) so I'm wondering whether your upgrade was a re-install? or you forced the system and created the issue yourself. More detail as to how you upgraded may provide a clue; the log files from '/var/log/dist-upgrade/' may help you to remember, but if you skipped 18.10 or didn't re-install then it's outside of Ubuntu's supported paths and sorry not a bug. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem especially details about your hardware, esp. video hardware and driver used, and details as to how up upgraded from 18.04 to 19.04 (supported path or not). We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. Thanks! ** Changed in: virt-manager (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1837335 Title: Screen goes to black after a few seconds using 19.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virt-manager/+bug/1837335/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
