I have reopened this bug, as I don't believe it has been fixed, so should never have been closed in the first place. The bug is still open in Debian Lenny, and no-one's decided to randomly close it there. The steps to reproduce it are so simple, I'm sure someone who has access to an Ubuntu 9.04 system can have a go. This bug is upstream but it's a valid bug. I really don't understand why it gets marked as INVALID because someone asked whether it happened in 9.04 (which has not even been officially released yet since its only Jan 2009). I can reproduce this bug with Ubuntu-8.04 using Vim-7.1.138 which comes with Hardy.
