Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue
for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Please reopen it if you
can reproduce the bug for Ubuntu Hardy 8.04. To reopen the bug report
you can click on the current status, under the Status column, and change
the Status back to New. Thanks again!

hi,

i am a new user to ubuntu 7.10.  i was installing the cups driver from
the cups website for my printer Brother MFC 4800.

i knew about the error as i click on the synaptic package manager and
the error came out. i am not able to access the synaptic package manager
as the window will close automatically.

as the message said, i have to report the error. but after i reported, i
am still not able to access the synaptic package manager.

hopefully the above is useful.

PS : i am amazed that the respond to the bug-report is so spontaneous.
impressed.
