Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace
First, thanks for packaging the new KDE 4.0. When installing the packages from http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu- members-kde4/ubuntu on my Gutsy machine, I noticed that the font installer was not included. This may seem like a small thing, but the font management features of the new installer in KDE 4 are something I've really been looking forward to. I assume this application should be in kdebase-workspace because that's where it shows up in the KDE svn. When I asked Craig Drummond, who wrote the font installer, about whether it would be included in KDE 4, he said it should be, and offered this information: "The font installer *requires* fontconfig and Xft development packages to be installed when compiling. And I can only assume that who ever did the Gutsy KDE4 packages (and the review above) did not have one of these installed." I hope that proves to be helpful, and thanks again for making this new software available.
