Hi Bryce, I was able to resolve by following this guide https://askubuntu.com/questions/225786/how-do-i-re-install-samba#225802 |sudo apt-get purge samba samba-common sudo apt-get install samba | I do not recall changing anything in smb.conf except the following |[GLOBAL] client min protocol = SMB2 client max protocol = SMB3| I believe I was following https://askubuntu.com/questions/1009455/smb-2-or-3-with-samba-version-4-3-11 and the goal was to mount SMB2 share (but it never worked). After reinstalling samba the error appears to be gone. Hi bb, Would you be able to run the following commands, and attach their output to this bug report, please? `systemctl status smbd.service` `journalctl -xe` Offhand, from the AptOrdering.txt file attached to this bug it looks like the upgrade may have been trying to ask you a question about how to handle your samba configuration, and timed out or something. If this is true, you might be able to get your upgrade back on track via running `sudo apt-get -f install` from a terminal window.
