2010-01-19 Thread Teej
Hi Anschel. Sorry no-one got around to helping with this. Can you tell
us if this is still a problem? Can you try with the latest release?
Thank you.

I see. Unfortunately, the bug just returned, too, so hotkey-setup wasn't
the culprit after all. Switching distros or OSes may be the only
solution so far.

Are you getting errors like this?

[4335062.871000] atkbd.c: Use 'setkeycodes e02a keycode' to make it known.
[4335063.546000] atkbd.c: Unknown key pressed (translated set 2, code 0xaa on

In that case, the culprit might the service hotkeys-setup, which is what
is causing these error messages. I've been having this problem for ages,
across several releases of Ubuntu and in both Gnome and KDE. Now, after
16 hours without hotkeys-setup, it's still working.

I posted this a while ago, and have since moved to (several) other OS's,
so I'm afraid I can't answer this.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue
for you? Thanks in advance.

[Bug 185208] Re: Ctrl+Alt keys stuck

2008-02-12 Thread phroughy
I have had a similar problem, running Kubuntu Hardy with all updates. My
error was most commonly with the win key, but the alt key has gotten
stuck as well, and has been happening for the last week or so. I cannot
confirm it, but it seemed to happen when I use global hot keys (for
example win+z is next song in amarok, and pressing it several times
until a good song comes on will cause the win key to get stuck), but i
can't confirm it, and other factors may be involved.

Brian Murray, I cannot be positive but I seem to remember that when my
alt key got stuck pressing ctrl-f1 did NOT change to a TTY, but pressing
ctrl-alt-f1 did. I will do further tests next time i get a stuck key.
Having a key like win or alt stuck usually makes saving my work before a
log-out difficult, so a fix would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

2008-01-23 Thread Brian Murray
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. To try and determine the package causing this bug it
good to know if Crtl+Alt seem to be pressed in a terminal. You could
check this by pressing F1 to switch a tty, after resuming from suspend,
and the entering characters in the username field. (Ctrl+Alt+J seems to
be enter so that should scroll the log in display,) Thanks in advance.

[Bug 185208] Re: Ctrl+Alt keys stuck

2008-01-23 Thread Anschel Schaffer-Cohen
Unfortunately, I was unable to test this when it happened, because I
encountered what I believe is a video card problem--I saw only a blank
screen with some random-colored vertical bars, no login screen (the
extra ttys are there, tho. i can get to one now). I will try again if
this happens again, but it doesn't seem to be after I do some particular
thing, so I can't reproduce the bug.
