I have heard about tearing issues with hybrid GPUs from other people, particularly from System76 who ship their own workaround for it. But I don't think we have a bug open for that yet. Please open a bug for the tearing by running: ubuntu-bug mutter For the backlight problem please report that as yet another new bug with: ubuntu-bug nvidia-driver-435 So you have three separate bugs. Please be careful to not discuss them all in the same bug report. This bug 1861538 should be about the original "Intel Graphic Card not working". It sounds like you've now said it is fixed and also not fixed. Hi, So I found that the error for the authentification agent was because I was using NVIDIA settings without root. Now, it works, and I was able to set it to Intel (Power Saving Mode). However, I have a glitch on my screen, it's as if there was a tear in the middle of the screen, and it's only visible when I scroll down or up, and if I am watching a video. It was also there when I was using the NVIDIA (Performance Mode) and the NVIDIA on demand, so I am not sure what's causing it. Also, when I use xbacklight to change dim the screen, it says : No outputs have backlight property I have tried intel_backlight, it also requires sudo access, and it says the current backlight is at 0% when my screen is at the maximum brightness. Can you please clarify where that issue is seen? Maybe with a screenshot
or photo?
Also, do you experience any actual brokenness other the error message?
