[Bug 1875164] Re: crashes on start: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'gtts'
Two day ago I had confirmed both the bug and workaround on Ubuntu 20.04 (Focal Fossa). Meanwhile I upgraded to 20.10 (Groovy Gorilla) and can confirm the same behaviour there as well. If python3-gtts is not manually installed, mnemosyne crashes on startup with the reported message. After manual installation of python3-gtts, everything works as expected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1875164 Title: crashes on start: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'gtts' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mnemosyne/+bug/1875164/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1875164] Re: crashes on start: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'gtts'
I can both confirm the problem itself as well as the fix mentioned in #2. It's just a missing dependency and simply installing python3-gtts fixes the problem.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users. ** Changed in: mnemosyne (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1875164 Title: crashes on start: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'gtts' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mnemosyne/+bug/1875164/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1875164] Re: crashes on start: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'gtts'
Looks like it needs a runtime dependency on python3-gtts - installed python3-gtts and mnemosyne started no problem.
