Everyone please file your own bugs, the original reporters crash was NOT
caused by flash or we couldnt get a backtrace from it since there is no
debugging package for flash.

[Bug 188540] Re: firefox-3.0 crashed with SIGSEGV in g_slice_alloc()

2008-04-10 Thread Matteo Brancaleoni
I would like to,
but seems that does not exists any ia32 libs dbgsym, so debug is impossible,
since this crash is releated to some ia32 lib that's used by nspluginwrapper.

so, without ia32-dbsym is impossible to file a better report.

Also I'm missing the nspluginswrapper-dbgsym? does it exists anywhere?

Signing on to eBay seems to be a reproducible step. More specifically
covered at bug 212407 (which is itself a duplicate of another bug, which is
currently marked private).

The flash problems remain unverified and untraceable

[Bug 188540] Re: firefox-3.0 crashed with SIGSEGV in g_slice_alloc()

2008-03-24 Thread Jovan Svorcan
Hmmm Ok Flash is not so stable on linux. But this problem appears on
firefox 2 too. But for example on fedora and suse. So, it's well known
that linux people don't like microsoft too much. But there is still
question for ubuntu team way flash crash so often on ubuntu.

nothing new there. flash has been unstable for months. We can only hope
that Adobe fixes it soon.

2008-03-22 Thread Ashok Gelal
@Trabuco007: You are right!

@Chad Bernier: It doesn't matter whether a product is of Microsoft or
not. What matters for us is a stable software. And yes as of now
Silverlight is not going to compete with Flash but soon M$ will!start
porting SilverLight by default in their OS and no one has yet forgotten
what happened to Netscape Navigator when M$ started porting IE by
default.

Re: [Bug 188540] Re: firefox-3.0 crashed with SIGSEGV in g_slice_alloc()

2008-03-13 Thread Chad Bernier
yea it is flash. flash hasn't been stable on linux for many months. we
have been waiting for adobe to release an update. silverlight doesn't
matter, people aren't going to rewrite everything already written. besides,
linux people hate microsoft products.

Interestingly, it did not crash yesterday when I was using ATI`s driver
(fglrx). Now I'm using vesa and it keeps crashing. (I'm using vesa now for
other reasons...)
I don't know whose problem is it, but if it's Flash's, then Adobe should wake
up and smell the coffee because Microsoft will release Silverlight 2 for Linux
really soon (and Microsoft means business!).

2008-03-01 Thread RedHeron
Hardy Heron 8.04 development branch on an AMD64 here... and what I did
was to update a theme for the browser at the same time I was updating my

it was the crappy nVidia drivers doing it (if only they'd release a
standard!).
