[Bug 1893601] Re: 4k not working
Although I can see from 'kernel-modes.txt' that the problem is originating from the kernel. So the Wayland session is unlikely to help. ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid ** No longer affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New ** Summary changed: - 4k not working + [i915] 4K modes are missing when connected by HDMI -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1893601 Title: [i915] 4K modes are missing when connected by HDMI (but are shown in the EDID) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1893601/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1893601] Re: 4k not working
The option is unfortunately a little too hidden... You need to click on your username on the login screen and then use the icon/menu in the bottom right corner of the screen before entering your password. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1893601 Title: [i915] 4K modes are missing when connected by HDMI (but are shown in the EDID) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1893601/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1893601] Re: 4k not working
Hi Daniel, Thank you for your quick response. The details are here. 1. Selecting 'Ubuntu on Wayland' from the login screen. Do you now get 4K modes offered in Settings? - I don't see any Wayland option. The max resolution at Display Settings is 1080p. 2. Run: grep . /sys/class/drm/*/modes > kernel-modes.txt - Attached the file.
