Yes, this bug also affects me and anyone else trying to install Ubuntu onto Apple laptops that use similar SSD hardware /dev/nvme0n1 (or similar). I would like to volunteer to work with someone to resolve this issue. A little bootstrapping help from a more experienced ubiquity/Grub hacker will go a long way to getting to done.
