let's be realistic while it would be nice to fix we don't have the
resources to commit to it, we could still help uploading if someone want
to work on cherry picking a fix though

+ This happens on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. Show Applications icon does not bring up
application list, if show-favorites is set to false for Ubuntu-dock. Same
problem happens if user manually removes all favorite icons from dock.

  [Impact]

   * When users don't want to see favorite app icons on dock, but only see
opened apps, they use gsettings to hide favorites, Show Applications
  icon will not work correctly.

   * Issue seems to be fixed in latest Ubuntu release already, and since
Ubuntu 20.04 is an LTS release, it's worth investigating if fix can be
  applied.

Should the status be "Confirmed" instead of "Fix Released" since Focal

@seb128, thanks for your comments. You mean setting show-favorites to
false is not a standard configuration?

2021-06-22 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed
in the current version of Ubuntu.

This is a significant bug in Ubuntu. If you need a fix for the bug in
previous versions of Ubuntu, please perform as much as possible of the
SRU Procedure [1] to bring the need to a developer's attention.
