There is a suspicious thing that needs to confirm with Desktop team; More specifically, the linux-generic-hwe-20.04 was updated from 5.8 to 5.11 when .2 release is used and with available networking. @Erich, Why this is expected? The user downloads the Ubuntu 20.04.02 image from https://releases.ubuntu.com/20.04/. The image was built at 2021-02-09 19:07. The user disables the following in ubiquity while installation. Why all the update packages will still be updated when installation? 1. "Download updates while installing Ubuntu" 2. What you are describing is expected behavior. Ubuntu 20.04.3 is due for release on August 26th with kernel 5.11.0.27 as the default kernel.
