Public bug reported:

As can be seen in [1], gitsome autopkgtests fail against python 3.10
because it uses 'collections' instead of 'collections.abc', that syntax
being deprecated since python 3.3.

You can find attached a patch that fixes this issue: the package
successfully built in my PPA [2] and the autopkgtests passed locally on
an amd64 VM.
