This bug report should have been moved to an appropriate package for further investigation but as the reporter has applied a fix of his own I'll close this. Unfortunately, "Invalid" is the only status available in which to do this. John, when reporting bugs please use apport by using 'ubuntu-bug' in a terminal window and the name of the package affected.
