Same problem with fglrx (as installed by envy). Look at your diversions (dpkg-divert), that's where the problem lies. -- libgl1-mesa-glx https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196823 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 196823] Re: libgl1-mesa-glx
using dpkg -D -i /var/cache/apt/archives/libgl1-mesa- glx_7.0.3~rc2-1ubuntu1_i386.deb allowed me to see that it was trying to use a diversion to /usr/lib/nvidia/libGL.so.xlibmesa which didn't exist. Creating this file (and directories) allowed the package installation to go through. I use the NVIDIA glx installed from the nvidia website, so I end up overwriting all this stuff anyway, but that allows me to go on, and may help others... -- libgl1-mesa-glx https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196823 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I don't understand the language but the bug is the same. My scenario was: 1. having a 100% working gutsy with the display driver replaced to a self-compiled radeonhd 2. upgrade to hardy 3. upgrade of libgl1-mesa-glx package fails constantly with error creating symbolic link './usr/lib/libGL.so.1': No such file or directory -- libgl1-mesa-glx https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196823 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
