[Bug 1969534] Re: mounting nfs shares fails
Hello Thomas, I'm marking this as a Wontfix then. Admittedly I didn't investigate this very deeply, but you did and your verdict looks clear. If I misinterpreted your words please comment back and change the bug state back to New. Thanks! ** Changed in: autofs (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969534 Title: mounting nfs shares fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autofs/+bug/1969534/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1969534] Re: mounting nfs shares fails
It is an old problem: if the server allows for nfs3 and nfs4, then the client shall probe nfs4 first. If it fails it has to fall back to nfs3. In some cases, the probe fails to detect nfs4 not working in some environments and tries using nfs4 even if it is impossible. This is not really fixable. Solution: explicitly give ver=3 as option within mount if Kerberos is not available. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969534 Title: mounting nfs shares fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autofs/+bug/1969534/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1969534] Re: mounting nfs shares fails
Hi Thomas, Thanks for taking the time to report this issue. Do you mind providing a simple, minimal reproducer for the issue? This would help to validate the bug and get us into the right track to solve the issue. Since the issue was also found in Debian, it would be nice to report the bug there as well (and possibly link it here). Also, would you mind providing the output for `automount -f -d`? Since there is not enough information in your report to begin triage or to differentiate between a local configuration problem and a bug in Ubuntu, I am marking this bug as "Incomplete". We would be grateful if you would: provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to "New". For local configuration issues, you can find assistance here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community ** Changed in: autofs (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969534 Title: mounting nfs shares fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autofs/+bug/1969534/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
