[Bug 196994] Re: failed to update dbus - 404
Thanks for your bugreport. This is not a apt bug, one of the internal server that hosts archive.ubuntu.com was out of date and that is why the 404 errors happend. It should be fully back in service now. ** Changed in: apt (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Invalid -- failed to update dbus - 404 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196994 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 196994] Re: failed to update dbus - 404
same problem here this morning. 404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.88.31 80] http://91.189.88.31/ That works, but its looking for 91.189.88.31 80 which isn't correct. There is no need for port 80, besides, there's no ':' in between the IP port And yes, I've tried it in synaptic, ssh and ssh from another computer. It's all a no go. My ISP might be behind on their cache this morning but hte IP and port is whats troubling me. I could be wrong tho on that part tho. -- failed to update dbus - 404 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196994 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 196994] Re: failed to update dbus - 404
bigern75 tried it from multiple computers running hardy after a 'sudo apt-get update' ? Looking at the repository that it is trying to access there are no files by those names on the server. There are similar ones however, I'm not familiar enough with apt-get enough to troubleshoot, so I'll pass the buck and just reopen the bug. I hope someone can enlighten us on what is causing the issue. ** Changed in: apt (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- failed to update dbus - 404 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196994 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Did you try to update from the terminal or the Synaptic Package Manager? Both. Do you have a internet connection? more specifically, when you go to 91.189.88.31 in Firefox on that machine, does it work? Yep, I can get there on FF http://91.189.88.31/ubuntu/ just fine. Most importantly, did you reload your sources list before updating? I did this: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade Thanks. -- failed to update dbus - 404 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196994 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Are you sure that you are not behind some proxy? Did you try to update from the terminal or the Synaptic Package Manager? Do you have a internet connection? more specifically, when you go to 91.189.88.31 in Firefox on that machine, does it work? (was this too obvious of a question?) Most importantly, did you reload your sources list before updating? It is the blue button at the top toolbar of synaptic. It appears that the versions that are trying to be fetched are not on the server, so it is strange to me. ** Changed in: apt (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None = apt Status: Invalid = Incomplete -- failed to update dbus - 404 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196994 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
