[Bug 199415] Re: [hardy][gvfs-smb] Some applications do not working with protectetd smb-share

2008-08-09 Thread XTudo - Robson Fernando
I also have the same problem with the audacious to access shares samba,
even the folders are free to access. I believe that is something in
GnomeVFS "gvfs"

eu também tenho o mesmo problema com o audacious para acessar
compartilhamentos samba, mesmo as pastas estando livre para acesso.
acredito que seja algo no GnomeVFS "gvfs"

[Bug 199415] Re: [hardy][gvfs-smb] Some applications do not working with protectetd smb-share

2008-05-28 Thread Gavin Hamill
Taking the example provided in this thread, mplayer fails because it
does not use gvfs. It is compiled with libsmbclient directly rather than
relying on a middleware like gvfs or gnome-vfs. That's why its console
output is taking about /home/lex/.smb/smb.conf.append. This is squarely
an mplayer issue.

It's merely unfortunate that mplayer uses the same smb:// URL syntax.
The chances are you can specify smb://username:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/pub/test.avi
on the mplayer commandline.

I appreciate that 'ubuntu' is providing the package, but only from
multiverse, so it is provided even more "as-is" than most!

[Bug 199415] Re: [hardy][gvfs-smb] Some applications do not working with protectetd smb-share

2008-04-01 Thread quentusrex
I have the exact same problem It's an ubuntu hardy bug... If it
isn't gvfs, than what is it??? The problem is that userspace
applications can't open files on a password protected samba share, even
though I go to 'connect to server' and mount the share.

2008-03-08 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report. Those applications don't use gvfs, that's
not a gvfs issue, you should open bugs against the corresponding
components
