[Bug 200319] Re: [FFe] Please sync libsynce0 0.11-2 from Debian(Unstable)

2008-03-10 Thread Stefan Ebner
Than it's better to set this to Invalid. synce-kde doesn't have new
features at all. (Since we don't use gcc 4.3 ) My only interest in
syncing libsync0 was to be able to sync librra-dev later. (As I said
because it has been renamed in Debian and librra-dev isn't in Ubuntu
yet. And Cesare advised me to ask for a FFe.)

So if I merge synce-kde now I should change the build-dep back to
librra0-dev or just wait until ibrex is open?

2008-03-10 Thread StefanPotyra
If synce-kde doesn't fix any other bugs beside making it compile with
gcc 4.3 (which we won't have for hardy), I guess it makes the most sense
to wait for hardy+1.

If there are other bug fixes, you could try if it still works with
librra0-dev when merging (as written in my last comment, this is just a
very rough guess, might as well be that a newer librra is needed).

2008-03-10 Thread Stefan Ebner
I think we can wait with the new synce-kde version for hardy+1.
The problem is if I think new merges with the new build-dep librra-dev instead
of librra0-dev I have to decide 1) if it's worth it the merge and 2) if it
builds with the old librra0-dev version :)

what's the rationale for the FFe? Also, please attach an install log and
set the bug then back to new, thanks.

[Bug 200319] Re: [FFe] Please sync libsynce0 0.11-2 from Debian(Unstable)

2008-03-09 Thread Stefan Ebner
A quick and dirty installlog.

The story. On DaD I saw that there is a new Debian revision for sync-kde. So I
wanted to do the merge. Then I noticed that it now depends on librra-dev
instead on librra0-dev and librra-dev isn't in Ubuntu yet. I ask Cesare and he
adviced me to request a FFe. Then I noticed that librra-dev depends on libsynce
0.11 so I'm requesting this FFe sync first. If you grant it I'll also request
one for librapi2-dev 0.11 because librra-dev also depend on it. It's a little
bit wired. After the librra-deb sync we may need an transition :)

[Bug 200319] Re: [FFe] Please sync libsynce0 0.11-2 from Debian(Unstable)

2008-03-09 Thread StefanPotyra
Hm... I'm not yet entirely sure if a newer libsynce is really needed for
a newer synce-kde (the versions of the build-depends of synce-kde in
unstable, suggest that the current ubuntu source package librra might
provide the necessary headers to compile the newer synce-kde version,
but that's just a very rough guess).

Since your actual goal seems to be to bring a newer synce-kde in, I'd
like to know what bugs this will fix/what new features there are to see
the bigger picture.

Thanks,
 Stefan.
