as of this moment Feb. 7th 2010 the back and to buttons DO NOT WORK in Thunderbird email.. I like the other poster suffer the problem of 'Greyed out buttons' . and ALL the time.. Thank you . I'm using the netbook version of Ubuntu. This occurs in the read message in a separate window. I have the same problem. The forward and backward buttons at the top of the screen are grayed out, and the F and B buttons don't work. But the problem is intermittent, and I can't correlate it with anything else. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. the bug is still there in 2..0.0.19 open an existing email and add the "back" and "forwards" buttons to your toolbar, do they work as you would expect them too. No they do not. see screenshot, I am now at work, Thunderbird 2.0.0.12 on WinXP using Imap onto our mail server, you will notice I opened an email and the back and forward buttons are greyed out so I cannot use them, why? I can use the B or F keys then the buttons start working only for emails I have opened using the B & F keys, bizarre behaviour. Surely the B & F keys and the Back & Forward buttons should do the same thing? Thank you for filing the bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Did you mean to say that in "Read individual mail in separate window" (i.e. one mail is opened in a separate window) and this window toolbar is customized to have 'Forward' and 'Backward' buttons, these buttons do not go through previous and next *read* mails? I tried to reproduce this bug by opening a read mail in the middle of the list, adding forward and backward buttons to the toolbar and pressing the buttons indeed changed the mail opened in a separate window to read mails before and after the current mail respectively. If my understanding of your bug is correct, then am not able to reproduce your bug. If my understanding is wrong, can you please provide me with a clear explanation of your reported bug and how to reproduce it?
