does the gst-launch command play the file or not? could you attach an
example to the bug? do you use totem-gstreamer or totem-xine?

[Bug 203065] Re: Crash on playing WMA

2008-03-17 Thread Joe Ubuntu
Again, this is puzzling since I have already been playing WMA files in
Ubuntu. Does the version of Windows Media Player used to make the rip
from CD have anything to do with it?

May you run from the command line: gst-launch-0.10 playbin
uri=file:///path/to/file ? and attach the output here? thanks.

Pedro, I the only reason I referenced the other bug was for my configuration
information. If you can confirm that these bugs are one and the same thing,
great, but, just to be clear: as far as I know, they're separate.

Re: [Bug 203065] Re: Crash on playing WMA

2008-03-16 Thread Joe Ubuntu
The other bug I was referring to is #165324,
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/165324 . The bug
apparently happens only with a group of WMA files from a ripped CD set but
works with other WMA files. The bug is apparently reproducible. Recently, I
updated GStreamer development files but I am not sure if that had anything
to do with it.

Thank YOU for helping to develop Ubuntu and for making it available to
all.

2008-03-16 Thread Parthan
Thank you for filing the bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please
specify the version of Ubuntu and the package against which you are
reporting the bug. Also, if you have another bug to refer to, please
specify the bug number (bug #) or the bug report's link in
your bug report. Is it the reported bug occuring only with a certain WMA
file or happens with all the WMA files you have? Is this bug
reproducable (or happens every time)? Does the bug start to occur after
any update/upgrade to the corresponding package? Thanks in advance.
