Public bug reported: Issue exists on xubuntu live-current 2-23, 3-4 and 3-15.
IPW2100 firmware is missing after installing the first kernel update available on a new installation, but works after the second update. Steps to reproduce: 1). Install xubuntu. 2). Reboot. IPW2100 wireless works fine. 3). Check for updates, if kernel update is available, install it. 4). Reboot. firmware fails to load when ipw2100 is modprob'ed (with either disable=0 or 1) 5). Check for updates, install kernel update if available (might have a wait a day). 6). Reboot. IPW2100 works fine. Last time I noted this issue I placed the logs in /var which got hosed after my 3-15 install. I'll try to post some logs after next install. ** Affects: ipw2100 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ipw2100 firmware missing after first kernel update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/204419 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
