Confirmed. And it also looks like the fix made it into the 6.8 kernel
for noble.

Issue seems to have been fixed, with the bug report not being mentioned in the 
changelog.
Tested on Ubuntu 22.04, with 6.5.0-28-generic, vSphere 6.5, ESXi 6.5, IDE 
CD/DVD as Client Device.
I guess this can be closed.
