shortly after updating this machine to hardy (thus trackerd went mad indexing 
things), 
I saw the oops below in my kernel log.

Machine is a Quad G5  PowerMac (64 bits powerpc kernel), though the problem 
doesn't
seem to be in some powerpc specific area.

It -could- have been related to successive failures at using a USB DVB adapter 
(the
driver may have been corrupting kernel memory) though unlikely.
