[Bug 2054395] Re: [sru] sos upstream 4.7.2

2024-07-18 Thread David Negreira
Hi Alejandro,

On the --all-logs issue:

Unfortunately we only caught the bug after the 4.7.2 release, so it is
already being reported and worked on upstream on the bug you linked.

For the secrets in sunbeam/ceilometer we have raised the upstream bug
https://github.com/sosreport/sos/issues/3713 to fix it.

Thank you for your time testing and providing feedback.

[Bug 2054395] Re: [sru] sos upstream 4.7.2

2024-07-18 Thread Alejandro Santoyo Gonzalez
I deployed single-node sunbeam on 22.04 and collected a sosreport using
4.7.2, notes on the testing below:

* No plugin warning or errors, or any errors on the sos logs.
* Hit this issue: https://github.com/sosreport/sos/issues/3683. So re-run the
sosreport w/o --all-logs
* Everything in /var/snap/openstack-hypervisor/common and
/var/snap/openstack/common collected as expected
* sos clean generated the expected files and overall worked as expected

Issues:

* Passwords being collected in 'var/snap/openstack-hypervisor/common/hooks.log'
and 'var/snap/openstack-hypervisor/common/etc/ceilometer/ceilometer.conf'
(doesn't happen for nova or neutron for example), sos clean does not resolve
that:

You are correct, I mistakenly checked python3-boto, not python3-boto3.

boto3 is only main in noble and oracular and in universe for the others.
Hence we thought it didn't make sense to have it in f,j and m and to
depend or recommend from the universe pocket

[Bug 2054395] Re: [sru] sos upstream 4.7.2

2024-07-04 Thread Andreas Hasenack
I noted that only noble has the python3-boto recommends, but since this
is a new upstream version being updated in all ubuntu releases, it would
make sense that the boto requirement would apply similarly everywhere
else. I won't block on accepting it, but if you believe the "Recommends:
python3-boto" was missed in mantic and earlier, a new upload on top of
this one can still be made, with the change, and the -v option
set correctly for the changes file.

[Bug 2054395] Re: [sru] sos upstream 4.7.2

2024-06-25 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package sosreport - 4.7.2-0ubuntu1

---
sosreport (4.7.2-0ubuntu1) oracular; urgency=medium

  * New 4.7.2 upstream release. (LP: #2054395)

  * For more details, full release note is available here:
- https://github.com/sosreport/sos/releases/tag/4.7.2

  * d/control:
- Move 'python3-boto3' to Recommends now that is in the main pocket
  A new feature for uploading to S3 was implemented and the boto3 module
  is used for this. Although not a hard requirement, but could be useful
  moving forward.
- Remove 'X-Python3-Version' as per previous recommendation, and is
  not required

  * Former patches, now fixed:
- d/p/0002-collect-refactor-_format_version.patch
- d/p/0003-pacemaker-Use-pep440-formatted-version-on-comparison.patch
- d/p/0004-cirrus-Run-tests-on-latest-daily-builds-for-ubuntu.patch
- d/p/0005-processor-handle-msr-module-loading-via-predicate.patch
- d/p/0006-fix-msr-load-issue-in-oracular.patch

[Bug 2054395] Re: [sru] sos upstream 4.7.2

2024-06-25 Thread Lukas Märdian
After some brief discussion on IRC today, we agreed to move
python3-boto3 from Suggests to Recommends (instead of Depends), as it's
considered to be an optional dependency.

Remarks from comments #43 and #50 seem to be addressed (for oracular), I
can confirm that the changes match the upstream 4.7.2 sources.

Uploading to oracular.
