Hi TheGZeus,

This bug was reported against an earlier version of Ubuntu, can you

feel it is no longer relevant, please mark the bug report 'Fix Released'

[Bug 206967] Re: no video output with restricted ATI installed in hardy

2009-11-19 Thread Peter Cordes
Without compiz, mplayer -vo gl, xv, and x11 all work.

my ~/.mplayer/config has
vo=gl:yuv=2:swapinterval=1:lscale=1:cscale=0

which looks better than xv (better smoothing when upscaling to
fullscreen), but xv may work better with compiz.

[Bug 206967] Re: no video output with restricted ATI installed in hardy

2008-07-03 Thread mhotze
Similar problem here. Only when the window is moved, the video output is
shown briefly on the screen. Otherwise, only output is a black window.

I use the open source NVidia driver.

Found out the problem was introduced by enabling "window compositing" in
the XFce "Settings Manager" under "Window Manager Tweaks" in the
"Compositor" tab. So disabling it solved the problem.

Now I find out, the flickering screen is just another bug (#219009).
When I disable the compiz-fusion the -vo gl2 works fine to me too.

I have the same problem, but the -vo gl or -vo gl2 don't help me. I just
have a flickering screen in window and full screen mode too.
