Yes it could be related to the cable. I'm not saying adapter cables are a bad thing, they're often necessary. Just that all types of cables are subject to variation in quality. That said, this feels just as likely an Nvidia driver bug to me. I don't think the mouse is relevant because those SYN_DROPPED messages are not frequent enough. The main issue appears to be the SAMSUNG repeatedly reconnecting. This suggests it needs a better HDMI cable or isn't plugged in properly. But it could also be a bug in the Nvidia driver thinking the TV is being plugged in repeatedly. Come to think of it, you will get a slight freeze every 5 seconds from a journaling file system if something is writing to a log file constantly.
